Just How Good is Neurofeedback on Depression?

Neurofeedback is recognized as a promising therapeutic approach for the treatment of depression. This non-invasive therapy utilizes biofeedback techniques to train the brain, aiming to enhance self-regulation of brain activity. Studies, including neuroimaging and randomized controlled trials, have demonstrated its potential effectiveness in reducing depressive symptoms.

So, just how good is it?

Neurofeedback stands as a proven, effective, and respected treatment that can make a significant difference in managing depression and improving cognitive health with a drug-free alternative that may complement traditional treatments.

What is Neurofeedback?

Neurofeedback (NFB) is a cutting-edge, non-pharmaceutical approach to mental health that focuses on training the brain. It uses real-time displays of brain activity to teach self-regulation of brain function. This revolutionary method is particularly effective in managing treatment resistant depression, offering a path to improved state of mind and emotional control.

Meet Richard Blankenship, LMFT, CSAT, SRT, PRT, IAT

In July of 2022, Capstone turned 20 years old. It has existed under different names. I was one of the founders in 2002 and have been an owner or co-owner for most of the 20 years. Capstone began with a vision of providing counseling services for people of all ages. Our desire was to assemble a team of highly qualified therapists who could meet the needs of families. While we are known for issues like problematic sexual behavior, betrayal trauma, neurofeedback, EMDR, and trauma treatment, Capstone therapists treat depression, anxiety, relationship struggles, and a wide variety of issues. Along the way we added a professional training institute that turned 17 years old in April of 2022. Our conferences and trainings have taken us coast to coast in the U.S. as well as to Canada, Brazil, and New Zealand, and many other countries via the Internet.

Capstone was created to serve individuals who were not being helped at the time. There were few resources for problematic sexual behavior and betrayal trauma. We have been a part of worldwide organizations that have developed treatment models to meet the needs of these populations.

Capstone also has a desire to serve people who might not be able to afford counseling services. The Capstone Community Services Foundation is a 501 c 3 non-profit that raises money for people who might not otherwise be able to afford therapy. More information can be found at www.capstonecsf.com
